Appraisal & Consulting Group, LLC, was formed in June 2012 to serve the appraisal needs of lenders, government agencies, and investors throughout the Pacific Northwest. We also provide appraisals for attorneys and individuals needing assistance with estate planning relating to a divorce, death in the family, gift taxes, etc. With offices in Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington, our experienced appraisal team is:

Don Palmer, David Groth, and David Pietka, each with 40+ years of experience, have brought together a group of highly experienced appraisers. Our combined appraisal experience is over 300 years with individual members each having 15 to 50+ years of experience. All reports go through an internal review process completed by an MAI-designated member for quality and clarity. Our appraisal experience covers all commercial property types from small single unit properties to large multiple family complexes, shopping centers, industrial parks, high rise office buildings, and special purpose properties such as gas stations. In addition, we have appraisers specializing in rural and resource properties and commercial properties on the Oregon and Washington coast.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved partner and friend, Don Palmer, on August 19, 2026.
Don was an integral part of Appraisal & Consulting Group for many years and a respected leader in the appraisal community. More than a business partner, Don was a mentor, colleague, and friend to so many of us. His knowledge, dedication, generosity, and genuine care for others left an enduring mark on everyone fortunate enough to know and work with him.
For decades, Don was a trusted professional to countless clients and colleagues throughout Oregon and beyond. He approached his work with integrity and commitment, but it was his warmth, encouragement, and willingness to help others that made him truly special.
Those of us who had the privilege of working alongside Don will deeply miss his wisdom, his humor, his friendship, and his steady presence. His contributions to our firm and to the people he served will continue to be part of his lasting legacy.
